Born Georgina León in Valera, Venezuela, Georgina began her recording career in the rock en español duo Tisuby & Georgina with fellow singer/songwriter and guitarist Tisuby González. After the partnership dissolved, Georgina moved to Spain and, based in Madrid, embarked on a solo career, debuting in April 2009 with the five-song Casi EP. With the exception of a cover version of Nirvana's "Lithium," the Casi songs would be included on her full-length album debut, Ensayo y Error, also released in 2009. The album, with a Latin pop/rock style likened to that of Julieta Venegas and Amaral, spawned the lead single "Con Solo una Mirada" and was a minor hit on the Spanish albums chart. Georgina's sophomore album, RaRa, arrived in 2012. ~ Jason Birchmeier
