Gordon Voidwell

Bronx-born fashion journalist/musician Will Johnson delivers stylish electro-funk with a smirk under the alias Gordon Voidwell. Heavily indebted to pop music that was released in his birth year of 1983, his single "Ivy League Circus" took a modern approach to the well-groomed hooks and grooves of artists like Prince and the Talking Heads, and shared a similar sense of humor as Das Racist (a duo who befriended and collaborated with Voidwell often.) Another celebrity pal, fashion icon Ralph Lauren, helped open some doors for the singer, and released his first track in conjuction with Cantora Records just before he underwent a national tour supporting Mayer Hawthorne. ~ Jason Lymangrover
