About Grace Mitchell

By the age of 16, Grace Mitchell broke with her downtempo, R&B-influenced cover of Hall & Oates' "Maneater" for the soundtrack to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The Portland, Oregon-born Mitchell -- who plays keys, drums, and guitars -- signed with Casablanca/Republic in 2013. Her debut EP, Design, was released in October 2014. The four-song collection had a mature, polished vibe similar to the alt-pop of Lorde and Banks. Her rich voice carried songs like "Runaway" and "Your Design" into early Lana Del Rey territory. Her follow-up, Raceday, was released in November 2015. That EP featured "NoLo" and the buzzed-about hit "Jitter," a throwback electro track with bounce elements and even some Peaches-esque rapping. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
