About Helen Reddy

A big-voiced interpreter of rock ballads, Helen Reddy was a child performer and had already starred in her own television show before winning a trip to New York in an Australian talent contest in 1966. An appearance on the influential TONIGHT SHOW led to a recording contract with Capitol Records, and a 1971 Top 20 hit single with "I Don’t Know How To Love Him." The following year, the powerful feminist anthem "I Am Woman" topped the U.S. charts, and sold over a million copies. Over the next five years, Reddy had a dozen further hit singles. Although her profile lowered a bit after the end of the '70s, Reddy has continued to appear in concert and cabarets around the world.
