About Pacho Flores

The music of trumpeter Pacho Flores encompasses classical, jazz, and popular influences. After lessons from his father, Flores entered Venzuela's famed El Sistema music education system. Signed to Deutsche Grammophon, he released his debut album, Cantar, in 2012. Like most of his albums to come, the album mixed established classical trumpet works with pieces of Latin American origin. Flores has appeared internationally with such orchestras as the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Düsseldorf Symphony. Flores is also a chamber player, having founded the Simón Bolívar Brass Quintet. He has recorded several more albums for Deutsche Grammophon, including Estirpe (2022), containing the Concerto Venezolano of jazz trumpeter Paquito D'Rivera. Flores is the founding director of Venezuela's Latin-American Trumpet Academy.
