About Jim Gibson

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mother was my first piano teacher, and I remember (from a very early age) having to practice before I could go out and play. There was always--always--music in the house--and music from your early years stays with you always. I was lucky. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? André Gagnon, Piano solitude Erroll Garner, Concert By the Sea (Remastered) Miles Davis, Kind of Blue Concert By the Sea was one of the first jazz albums I ever heard and it is still one of the happiest. Piano Solitude is so beautiful, peaceful, and musical it just knocks me out when I hear it. Kind of Blue is great playing, great songs--a classic! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sandra's Waltz” 'Sandra's Waltz' is the first song I wrote for my wife, and I realized then what an interesting problem it is to translate emotions into music. It's a simple melody, but I wanted it to be a pretty and memorable one. I hope you enjoy it.
