About Julia McKenzie

After spending four years at the Guildhall School of Music, Julia McKenzie came to prominence in the 1969 West End production of MAME, alongside Ginger Rogers. McKenzie’s biggest break came IN 1976 when she co-starred in SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM on Broadway. During the '80s, McKenzie resumed her association with Sondheim in several more successful productions, including a 1993 turn as Mrs. Lovett in the Royal National Theatre’s highly acclaimed production of SWEENEY TODD.
