About Karl-Andreas Kolly

Karl-Andreas Kolly is a Swiss pianist. He studied at the Zurich Music Academy with Hans Schicker and participated in the master classes of Karl Engel in Bern and Mieczyslaw Horszowski in Lucerne. He has appeared in numerous recitals as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, and the United States, and he has been a guest artist at international festivals. As a concerto soloist, he has performed with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. He is also active in chamber music, performing with the Trio Novanta in Romantic repertoire. Since his first album in 1992, Kolly's recordings have covered a wide range of works, including Bach's Goldberg Variations and solo pieces by Chopin, to music by Glazunov, Scriabin, and Schmidt. Kolly teaches at the Zurich High School for Music and Theater.
