About Keith Green

Signed to Decca Records at age 11, vocalist/pianist/guitarist and CCM pioneer Keith Green was originally a rock-&-roll child prodigy. His childhood success was short-lived, though, and at 14 he ran away from home, beginning a spiritual quest that eventually led him to evangelical Christianity. Once filled with the spirit, Green developed an overtly religious soft-rock style that compared favorably with secular artists such as Elton John and Leo Sayer. Before long the California native was ministering to tens of thousands at sold-out concerts and attracting media attention for his radical brand of faith. Sadly, on the eve of an arena tour, Green and his two young children were killed in a plane crash. Despite his untimely demise, Green’s accomplishments both as musician and preacher secured him a place as one of the most influential figures in the development of Contemporary Christian Music.
