About La Femme

Based in suburban Paris, the Krautrock-inspired indie collective La Femme incorporate elements of '60s surf, psych rock, EDM, and classic French pop into their avant indie electronic music. The group was formed in Biarritz, France by singer and keyboardist Marlon Magnée and guitarist Sacha Got. They released a self-titled EP in 2010 and followed it with Le Podium #1. A third EP, and their second self-titled effort, appeared in 2013 and marked their debut on the Disque Pointu label. With a roster of contributors, La Femme's debut long-player, Psycho Tropical Berlin, arrived in 2013 and made it onto the French albums chart. It later won a Victoire de la Musique, an award presented by the French Ministry of Culture, for Album Révélation of the Year. The follow-up, 2016's Mystère, was recorded partly in Los Angeles and partly in a castle west of Paris, and featured additional members Clémence Quélennec (vocals), Sam Lefèvre (bass), and Noé Delmas (drums) from the debut, as well as keyboardist/percussion Lucas Nunez Ritter. ~ Marcy Donelson
