Los Pumas del Norte
Guanajuato, Mexico-based norteño group Pumas del Norte comprises the five Balver brothers: singer/accordionist Ramon, singer Agustin, guitarist David, bassist Juan, and saxophonist Rogelio. Debuting in 1994 with Y Me Quede con Ganas, the group scored with the hit "Devuelveme el Corazon"; the follow-up, 1995's Enamorado Hasta las Cachas, launched the smash "Pierdete Conmigo." After returning to the charts in 1996 with "La 100 X," culled from the LP Corridos de Valientes, Pumas del Norte resurfaced a year later with Cheque de Amor, followed a year later by Hasta el Cielo Ida y Vuelta. 1999 marked the release of Al Ponerse el Sol; Corridos Verdaderos followed two years later.
