About Los Rieleros del Norte

Los Rieleros del Norte are one of the longest-running and most successful norteño bands, best known for their use of saxophone along with the more traditional accordion. ∙ Formed in 1979, they finally found mainstream success with 1995’s Tendre Que Compartir, their first album to get major airplay in both Mexico and the US. ∙ “Te Quiero Mucho,” which topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart in 2000, has become a norteño standard. ∙ The band received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Norteño Album—for 2007’s Ven y Dime and 2009’s Pese a Quien Le Pese. ∙ Corridos y Canciones de Mi Tierra, from 2015, was the band’s 19th release to reach the Top 20 of Billboard’s Latin Albums chart.
