About Medi Kay

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is getting my first keyboard as a 3-year-old! It had a bunch of songs stored on it, and I remember the first thing I learned how to play was the intro to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joyous Celebration, Joyous Celebration 26: Joy Maverick City Music, Maverick City Music, Vol. 3: Pt. 1 REVERE, Unscripted: Behold (King of Glory) [Live] These three albums showcase the things I value most: the presence of God, authenticity, and diversity. As a Congolese-American, I'm always looking for music that creates a multicultural experience, and that's what these albums do! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Say the Word (feat. Ke'Ambrea J)” This song is so special to me because it was written with dear friends and from a place of obedience to God. We didn't go looking to write the song, but it naturally came together and it was one of the smoothest writes I've ever been a part of! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was singing with Maverick City Music during the March On Atlanta as a part of their first ever live show. It was surreal being able to join many other like-minded worshippers in declaring life and hope over the city! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One of the things on my bucket list is to write with Steffany Gretzinger, Mitch Wong, and Benji Cowart! The depth of experience from these writers is something I would be so happy to learn from, as well as getting to know them personally.
