My first word was "record" as I was obsessed with them, I had my own battery-operated record player and a little vinyl collection I'd carry around in a box. My Dad used to make chord shapes on the guitar and let me strum Simon & Garfunkel songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joni Mitchell, The Hissing of Summer Lawns Keith Jarrett, The Köln Concert (Live) Live Laura Nyro, New York Tendaberry It's really hard to choose only three. But for me these works are touched by something that goes beyond intellectual achievement and even emotional expression - something mysterious, divine and infinite. I wrote this during a prolonged illness while reading Thomas Mann's book of the same name, and feel I managed to capture the strange, yearning atmosphere I sensed in the novel. I'm really proud of the arrangement, and of the vocal round at the end.
