Pasadena, California artist Petey Pitts' songs often bring together R&B hooks with a wide variety of rap flows. Changing his approach from song to song, Pitts explored harder trap rhythms and club-ready R&B instrumentals before taking a turn into the dancehall-tinged beat of 2020 single "Magic." In addition to trying his hand at a spectrum of creative pursuits that included comedy, podcasting, and acting, Pitts began releasing original music around 2016. That year, he uploaded his first release online, a four-song project called I'm WiLd that moved between minimal rap bangers and sentimental R&B love songs over its brief running time. Pitts' versatility continued over the next few years as he released the Euro-club-inspired single "Coast to Coast" in 2017, rap/R&B hybrid songs "All About You" and "Girl You Win" in 2018, and the bass-heavy trap song "Beat It Beat It" featuring RJ Full Range and ChefTeezy in 2019. In 2020, Pitts returned with the track "Magic," again featuring an appearance by RJ Full Range as well as a guest spot from Arisq. ~ Fred Thomas
