Ethiopian pianist Samuel Yirga mixes African music with a forward-thinking jazz sound. A native of Addis Ababa, Yirga studied music before signing with Peter Gabriel's Real World Records. Besides touring with his own band, Yirga is also member of the Ethiopian jazz collective Dub Colossus. He released his debut solo piano album, Hagere, in 2011. In 2012, Yirga returned with his sophomore release, Guzo.
