About Sôber

One of Spain's most popular rock bands during the early 2000s, Madrid-based Sôber released their debut album, 1997's Torcidos, when the group was named Sober Stoned, reflecting the musicians' alcohol-free lifestyle. After shortening their name to to Sôber, the group released Morfología in 1999, and with the arrival of 2001's Synthesis and 2002's Paradÿsso, the band began to attract a larger audience for its progressive, guitar-driven, hard rock sound that earned comparisons to American groups like Tool. The band took a long hiatus after the release of 2004's Reddo, with all four members pursuing their own projects. Sadly, drummer Alberto Madrid died in a 2006 car crash. Four years later, the band re-formed with new drummer Manu Reyes, and released Superbia in 2011. ~ Andrew Leahey
