About Soul for Real

The sibling R&B vocal quartet Soul for Real broke big in the 1990s with the soulful hits “Candy Rain” and “Every Little Thing I Do.” • Brothers Jason, Brian, Dre, and Chris Dalyrimple grew up singing together in church. • After signing with Uptown Records, the quartet hit No. 1 on the US R&B chart (No. 2 on pop) with their Heavy D-produced 1994 debut single, “Candy Rain.” • Their 1995 debut album, Candy Rain, came out the following year and went platinum. It features both “Candy Rain” and “Every Little Thing I Do,” which peaked at No. 17 on the pop charts. • Sean “Diddy” Combs helped to produce their second album, 1996’s For Life, but the LP failed to yield any major hits. • The group dropped their third album, Heat, in 1999. In the years since, the members have sporadically released additional Soul for Real singles and solo records.
