Speak No Evil

About Speak No Evil

The Los Angeles metal quintet Speak No Evil (Curtis Skelton on vocals, Danny Gill and Lisardo "Lee" Rios on guitar, Greg Weiss on bass, and Charlie Waymire on drums) first came together in the mid-'90s, shortly after the two guitarists relocated from Miami to the West Coast. The quartet issued a self-titled debut for Universal in 1999, and followed it up with Welcome to the Downside two years later. Their music is comparable to such metallic heavyweights as Soundgarden and Pantera, but their lyrics reflect such politically minded outfits as Rage Against the Machine (especially evident on such songs as "Lunatic" and "Downside," off their sophomore release). ~ Greg Prato
