Whirlwinds of percussion crash into cascading strings, a tornado clashing western and eastern sounds, an experimental mesh of electronica, jazz, and traditional Indian; that is the essence of Tabla Beat Science. Formed in 1990 by producer and avant-garde jazz bassist extraordinaire Bill Laswell, tabla master Zakir Hussain, and an all-star cast of percussionists and electronica wizards, the pair would be joined over the years by luminaries such as Talvin Singh, Trilok Gurtu, and Karsh Kale.
