Tax The Heat

About Tax The Heat

Tax the Heat offer up an intoxicating amalgam of stadium-ready modern rock and no-frills, blue-collar, maximum R&B that invokes everyone from Cream and Thin Lizzy to the Black Keys and Masters of Reality. Based out of Bristol, England and featuring the talents of vocalist/guitarist Alex Veale, bass player Antonio Angotti, guitarist JP Jacyshyn, and drummer Jack Taylor, the band began recording demos shortly after forming. Those early tracks eventually caught the ear of heavyweight producer Chris Goss (Queens of the Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), who would go on to helm Tax the Heat's eponymous 2013 debut EP. A flurry of high-profile shows and festival performances followed, as did a deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The group's much anticipated full-length debut, Fed to the Lions, was produced by Evansson (Robert Plant, Siouxsie Sioux, Goldfrapp), and released in early 2016. Two years later, the band returned with the politically and socially charged Change Your Position, which saw them addressing the difficulties connecting in a post-Brexit/Donald Trump world. ~ James Christopher Monger
