The Last Shadow Puppets

About The Last Shadow Puppets

The Last Shadow Puppets is a modern supergroup featuring Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner with members of The Rascals, Simian Mobile Disco, and Mini Mansions. ∙ The group was originally conceived in 2007 by Alex Turner and The Rascals’ Miles Kane, who toured with Arctic Monkeys in his previous band, The Little Flames. ∙ Prior to forming The Last Shadow Puppets, band members Miles Kane and James Ford played guitar on Arctic Monkeys’ triple-Platinum 2007 album, Favourite Worst Nightmare. ∙ In 2008, the trio released their Platinum-certified debut LP, The Age of the Understatement, which featured the London Metropolitan Orchestra and string arrangements by Owen Pallett. ∙ The band won both Breakthrough Artist and Best New Act at the 2008 MOJO Awards and Q Awards, and they were also nominated for that year’s Mercury Prize. ∙ Returning from hiatus with a new member, Mini Mansions bassist Zach Dawes, they topped the UK Albums chart in 2016 with the Gold-certified LP Everything You’ve Come To Expect.
