About The Viscounts
An instrumental quintet from New Jersey, the Viscounts include tenor saxophonist Harry Haller, guitarist Bobby Spievak, organist Larry Vecchio, bassist Joe Spievak, and drummer Clark Smith. They scored one hit in 1960, a nicely done version of "Harlem Nocturne" for Madison. They are not to be confused with '60s rockers the Viscounts, who were from England and had such hits as "Short'nin' Bread" and "Who Put the Bomp." ~ Ron Wynn
