California duo Touché mixes the icy synths of the synth pop era with strong female vocals and a dancefloor-friendly rhythmic underpinning. Alex Lilly and Bram Inscore first met in San Francisco when they were teenagers but didn't begin to play music together until after they had both moved to Los Angeles to pursue their separate musical visions. Bram found work as a touring and recording bassist and keyboardist for artists like Thurston Moore, Beck, and Twin Shadow while Alex played keyboards and sang backing vocals for Nick Lowe and the Bird and the Bee, was a member of the Living Sisters, and fronted her own band, Obi Best. In the midst of all this activity, the two reconnected musically in 2011 and started working on their own thing. While playing shows in L.A. (and playing in their other musical endeavors), they began writing and recording in Inscore's home studio. Their first result was a 7" single ("Bad Dream"/"Everything He Wants"), which was issued in 2012. They followed up with the release of "I'm a Man, Not a Machine" later that same year. Their self-released full-length debut, It's Fate, saw the light of day in May of 2013. ~ Tim Sendra
