About Tyler Dumont

A contemporary R&B singer and songwriter who competed on Making the Band 3, Tyler Dumont made her proper solo debut with "Don't Mean It" (2018), an assertive ballad that hit Billboard's Adult R&B Songs chart. The Miami-born, New York-raised Dumont knew that music was for her at an early age, after she received a standing ovation for her first performance. She reached a national audience in 2004 when she competed on Making the Band 3 (under the name Patty Tyler), but she left during the first season to take care of her ailing mother. Following a period away from music, Dumont recorded "Don't Mean It" with SwanQo (co-producer of Cardi B's "Get Up 10"), and self-released it as her first solo commercial single in late 2018. The following April, the song entered Billboard's Adult R&B Songs chart at number 29. ~ Andy Kellman
