Bridget Jones, the iconic character who sold 15 million books worldwide, inspired a major motion picture franchise, and became beloved as a Chardonnay-swilling everywoman, is back in this hotly anticipated third installment. Set in contemporary London, the new novel brings us Bridget in a new phase of life.
One sequel too many
Love the first two books, but this one is a bit...icky. 51-year-old Bridget with a 29-year-old "toy boy" - awkward. Doesn't help that narrator sounds more like 70.
Cringe as this narrator employs high school theater antics in an attempt to cover up for this sad excuse for a sequel. Prepare to turn it off, mourn the loss of the real Bridget Jones, and feel scammed on the way out.
