Dad Is Fat (Unabridged)
by Jim Gaffigan
Open iTunes to Buy
In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children - everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills ("they always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important news"), to the eating habits of four-year-olds ("there is no difference between a four-year-old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floor"). Reminiscent of Bill Cosby’s Fatherhood, Dad is Fat is sharply observed, explosively funny, and a cry for help from a man who has realized he and his wife are outnumbered in their own home.
I love gaffigan. Definite recommend
Dad is Fat
Highly recommend this if you are a Gaffigan fan and want a good laugh. At one point I was listening to the audiobook while brushing my teeth and I laughed so hard I choked on my toothpaste (that's not a joke, it actually happened). I do not have children, but it doesn't matter...still very relatable. I think I may buy this for my dad for Father's Day, he would love it...my only concern is giving my dad a book called Dad is Fat (not the message I like to send on holidays).
You'll like it.
Not as good as you would think
Huge fan of Jim Gaffigan, but this audiobook was disappointing especially if you have heard all his comedy shows on iTunes. Most of this book is his jokes, but spoken like he is reading them so the delivery is poorly given. I would recommend all his other comedy albums before this audiobook.
