At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape? They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.
I wanted to love it more but...
It is another amazing story from Rick Riordan, more about adventures of Percy and friends. There is nothing wrong about the story it's pacing or anything like that, actually the story is awesome. Though as an audiobook it's a little disappointing. The narrator's performance is less then stellar. I wish it was Joshua Swanson (amazing performance in "The Son of Neptune") doing it and not this guy. Part of the enjoyment of an audiobook is the performance the narrator gives and he didn't seem to try make it better. That sounds harsh but it's true.
New reader? Why!
Can't wait to hear the whole book but why did they have to get a new voice as the reader, the old one was just fine, now I have to get use to him
Another Great Story but bad narrator
I have all the books and audiobooks. This story is great. I have enjoyed both but this has been a disappointment as an audiobook. There is no story telling with this guy. I could have done better. It is not that he is new. It is that there is no feeling or flow to his reading style. I would even be willing to repurchase if they could get Joshua back. Before you buy listen to the sample I wish I had.
