A new, original novella in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series that picks up several months after the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin. Months after the explosive events in A Court of Wings and Ruin, Feyre, Rhys, and their companions are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated - scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.
This novella was not at all what I was expecting or hoping for. Definitely a filler story of how the troops are all living/surviving post war. One of the character’s response was surprising and honestly quite sad. I liked the different character perspectives. Though the novella was good the story had so much potential to be more but it just felt half finished. The narrator did a nice job.
Great but short
I wish I had paid greater attention to the running time before I started listening. It's 10 hours shorter than "Thornes and Roses " and I was surprised when it ended. It was great though, it gave a nice wrap up (for now) to our two lovebirds but left open some great stories for the supporting players and I hope to see those soon!
