Publisher Description

Min Dobbs knows that happily-ever-after is a fairy tale, especially with a man who asked her to dinner to win a bet. Cal Morrisey knows commitment is impossible, especially with a woman as cranky as Min Dobbs. When they say good-bye at the end of their evening, they cut their losses and agree never to see each other again.

But Fate has other plans, and it's not long before Min and Cal are dealing with a jealous ex-boyfriend, Krispy Kremes, a determined psychologist, chaos theory, a mutant cat, Chicken Marsala, and more risky propositions than either of them ever dreamed of, including the biggest gamble of all: real love.

If Cal bet you $10 that you'd like this book, he'd win!

Every time I listen to this book, I enjoy it more! It makes me smile and chuckle every time, despite the fact that I can practically recite some parts along with the narrator. It's one of my absolute favorite books and the audiobook does the written version definite justice! The narrator does an amazing job keeping the many characters straight, each with a wonderfully appropriate voice.

The plot is amazing-- It's a great story about real people and falling in love (via whatever theory you subscribe to). The characters are well-developed and there are no "wait-a-minute" moments where you wonder if the author lost momentum and was just writing for the heck of it. Listening to this makes me want to pull out the Elvis and make chicken marsala!

I can't recommend "Bet Me" enough!

Bet Me

Loved this book in hard cover; and, as an artist who likes company while working at the drawing board, I have enjoyed listening to the audio book countless times. The fast paced, witty dialogue never ceases to bring a smile and takes me back to the romantic comedies of the '40s and '50s particularly anything with Cary Grant, and the classic duo of Hepburn and Tracy. Deanna Hurst is one of the best "readers" of audio books I have heard so far. She was the perfect match for Bet Me.
