Sometimes audiobooks can be really terrible. I heard one last week that was read by some sort of computer generated voice. It was awful. This is not one of them. Elizabeth Gilbert is the perfect person to read her incredibly insightful and illuminating way to think about creativity and living a creative life. Her thoughts on the subject have changed everything for me, and in turn inspired a truly beautiful way to approach my life and my work from now on.
Highly, Highly, Highly recommend it!
Absolutely the best!
This book has helped me describe to others what it means to truly live. Life is a paradox. I never understood how much paradox was keeping me from truly enjoying my life. I have suffered from depression for what seems like my entire life. Now, absorbing this book, I feel the abs and flows of life are worth it. I can't thank you enough. The words have enriched my life greatly. I recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants to do anything creative in life. If you want something more than the mundane, this book is for you!
Insightful, inspiring, delightful
I'm not a "self-help" book kind of person. I'm also an atheist, and do not believe in the supernatural. In fact, I think I may have bought this audiobook by accident (!). Having said that, it was truly incredible. Gilbert's writing and (reading aloud) was fantastic. I honestly didn't want this book to end. I would highly recommend it to other readers, who should not be put off by either the title or the "category" (self help). Elizabeth Gilbert somehow manages to speak directly to the human spirit, at any age, and at any place in time.
