Love is a mortal sin, and the secrets of the past are deadly. Plunge into the third installment in the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series and “prepare to be hooked” (Entertainment Weekly).
To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters—never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City—whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third installment of the bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

Really? No reviews?
Alright, c'mon peeps, how are there no reviews for this? If it's cuz you haven't read this series, then holy crap you are missing out. These books are definitly one of my favorite series. It's up there with Pendragon and Harry Potter and The Guardians of Time. You have to read it. It made my friend (who hated to read a single page from a book her entire life) actually enjoy reading. Personally, I just wanted to let Miss Clare know that she absolutely has to continue her writing career - or I'll personally come knock on your door and bug the crap out of you until you begin writing - cuz you are amazing. You got the teenage humor down, the love, the suspence, the sweet werewolf/vampire/demon/warlock thing, and the plot all put together prefectly. Yay, Cassandra Clare!!! P.S. I'm reading City of Ashes for the third time right this very moment... :)
Great. Amazing. Best Ending Ever!
YAY great ending to a great series...you won't forget this book Magic never has been more fascinating Love never so heart breaking...move over bella and edward it's clary and jace time!!!!
WOW!!! Hands Down to Cassandra Clare.
The Mortal Instruments books are amazing. I've read Twilight, House of Night, Blue Bloods, Vampire Academy, Evermore/Blue Moon and Wow... I have not read anything like this. They way she moves from one point of view to another is amazing. I don't even know what category this should go under, Romance, Mystery, Thriller, Science Fiction, Fantasy, I mean WOW. I didn't think putting all the different Species/Deamons (if I can call them that) could create such an outstanding story. I can't wait for your next project (The Infernal Devices) to come out. I love all of the characters. Great piece of work. I'm hooked and want more. :)
