WONDERFUL RESOURCE

A very satisfying and wide-ranging compendium of classic American shortstories, unabridged. The sound quality is excellent, and the vocal delivery is wonderful. With just a touch of soundtracking and some minor sound effects, the dramatics are enhanced that much more.

Strangley, a lot of the stories deal with madness. I'd be curious to talk to the editor of the series, see what their thesis is. Bret Harte, Fitzgerald, Hemmingway, Poe... they're all here.

The Ambrose Bierce story ("Coup De Gras") is incredible, worth the entry price alone, as is Jack London's "To Build A Fire", a story I've read many times, but the delivery here is so fresh and effective, it was like hearing it for the first time.

Classic American Short Stories II

A real waste of money. Gloomy stories with very poor reference to who the author is. I wished I never squandered my money.
