In this short story prequel, Trixie and her friends Berklie and Sophie consider themselves typical 30-something females until someone turns up murdered in their newly opened bookstore/wine bar. They thought they would be living out their dream in their new shop, not trying to catch a killer. Who killed Sylvia and why? Was one of them the intended target?

Not a book
This seemed to be starting out to be a nice, light, escapist kind of chic-lit murder mystery, with our three intrepid gal heroines setting out to start their own business (a bookstore, coffee shop, wine bar-what could be more chic lit than that?) in the small Michigan town in which they live. They start being harassed by someone one of the three thinks is the girlfriend of her ex husband, but then this girlfriend turns up dead in their about-to-open bookstore. Then the story ends!! With the main character, Trixie, calling 911 about the dead body on the floor! That's it! No more!!! It would probably have been mild fun if it HAD been a book, but I'd like to pitch it out the window because it is in fact NOT a book and there's no warning or even any indication about how to find out who murdered the wretched victim or what happens next. Like, some way to purchase the REST of the book, maybe? Really annoying!!!!!
