Number-one New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has won numerous awards for her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, which has been adapted into the hit HBO show True Blood. In this 13th and final book, a murder rocks the town of Bon Temps and Sookie is arrested for the crime. After making bail, she sets out to clear her name - but her investigation only leads to more deaths.
This is THE perfect way to end and era. Charlaine's choices are very character driven. Everything made sense and it was well written just as always. I love Johanna Parker, she is so wonderful at her characters. Between the writing and narrating I loved loved loved it!
Lackluster Ending To Good Series.
I read the reviews on this book so I knew going in I might be disappointed and I was. This book felt rushed and cobbled together. Mrs. Harris was obviously either tired of this series or being pushed by the publisher to get the final book out quickly. The inevitable partnering of who Sookie ends up with at the end aside, I felt there were to many plot threads running at once in this book. Leaving the reader with a sense of confusion as to where each piece fits in the story. Also, while normally written in first, Mrs. Harris changed her writing style to include screens at Sookie isn't aware of from her prespective. Buy this book at your own risk there are a few redeeming screens but those are few and far between.
