The Masque of the Red Death 6. The Pit and the Pendulum 7. The Fall of the House of Usher 8. The Black Cat 9. The Cask of Amontillado Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849) was an American novelist and poet most famous for his tales of mystery and terror. Poe was also a literary innovator, credited with the invention of the detective story.
The reader did a pretty good job, however, the woman who introduced each story mispronounced almost every title which was surprising. Even in the title of the audiobook, malevolence was mispronounced!
More for kids
This does not like the way the original story was written. It's like it was made cheaper or easier. It sounds as if it was made easier for people to understand. I want this the right way. The ORIGINAL way. Side note the reader doesn't souls like how I think it should. Poe is INSANE. His characters are INSANE.I just feel like I'm getting a random guy reading the story and he's reading the easier/translated/rewritten for kids. Im about the originals. I came here for the genuine
Cheesy and unprofessional
Some words are obviously mispronounced. The usual feeling of suspense and transe-like terror when reading Edgar Allen Poe, is lost in this audiobook.
