Callie & Wes!
Callie is in a rut. She goes to work as a librarian, goes home, dinner, bed and repeats every day. Her friends take her away for a quick vacation, not telling her where she is going and takes her completely out of her comfort zone! At a dude ranch, she is bound to face many things she is not used to. Including the handsome Wes Braden. She sees him once a week in the library, giving him books to read. Wildly attracted to him, it's nothing like seeing him in his element. What she doesn't know is he goes to the library to see her! Will Wes be able to win her over, facing her fears and living life with her heart? What a fun listen! There is fantastic friendships and a slow burn love that had my heart. And the dog!!! The dog steals the show! Melissa Foster has me wanting to stop in Trusty to meet these people and hang out. Loving this branch of the Braden family!
BJ Harrison continues his fantastic narration of the series. I have come to know him as the Bradens and look forward to his easy pace and wonderful voices.
Sweet and Cute Romance
I received this audiobook free for an honest review. This author always delivers sweet romances in her Series. You know when you listen/read her books you are going to finish with a HEA. Callie, the sweet librarian, is thrust into the lifestyle of a Dude Ranch and the handsome owner, Wes. Wes is not really a lady's man, but he takes care of Callie and helps her through her fears. I really enjoy these Series and Melissa has never disappointed me with her writing. The male narrator actually does a great job with all the characters.
Not my favorite
I had a hard time with this book because I did not care for Callie. She is afraid of everything and does not stand up for herself. I found her to be a hard character to like. On the otherhand, it was hard to relate to Wes. He is so down to earth and open. But it seems too good to be true. I think my favorite part of the book was Sweets. That dog is so sweet I just want to love her and cuddle her.
I was hoping that the weekend at the Dude Ranch would help Callie conquer her fears and "grow a backbone". Yes she rode a horse, but it took her 2 days to work up to it and all she did was ride it. At a walk. Yes she fished, but she was 10 feet from the water so she didn't confront her fear of deep water. Yes she scaled a mountain to save Sweets, but she did not confront her fear of heights, she confronted her fear for a hurt dog. Much different scenario.
This is another BJ Harrison narration and he handles the Braden's so well.
