"Don't do it, Annika," he taunted. His eyes were no longer bright and charming, but dark and intense, yet they still twinkled. He was tempting, but was he harmful? Aspiring rock star Annika Brisby thinks she knows where her life is going until she steps through a broken portal that leaves her stranded in a fae-filled realm of fairies, shapeshifter druids, psychic vampires, and other mythical beings. Unable to return until it's repaired, she's rescued by wood nymphs who believe her sudden arrival is no accident. After being taken in by a prominent family of elves, Annika finds herself struggling to resist the seductive spell of their youngest son, Talvi. Equal parts arrogant and alluring, the notorious heartbreaker seems like the perfect distraction for her homesickness. Her new friends warn her that she'll probably regret ever laying eyes on him, and what begins as a casual fling with a telepathic elf for a lover quickly burns too hot to handle. By the time Annika learns the consequences of their forbidden trysts, Talvi's already under her skin and dangerously close to her heart. But on the journey home she discovers that there's a mountain of secrets that he's not telling her, and Annika can't help wondering who's really in danger. You'll enjoy this edgy, dark blend of New Adult Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance if you're a fan of Laurell K. Hamilton, Kresley Cole, Donna Grant, Charlaine Harris, Karen Marie Moning, Jeanine Frost, J.R. Ward, and Lynsay Sands.

The Flame and the Arrow

I normally don't listen to audiobooks mainly because it's hard for me to "get into" the book when i'm listening to it. But I love Emigh's books so much I had to give it a shot. I am so glad I did. This narrator has such a smooth voice and is very easy to listen to because he is has such great diction. He also has such a great emotion behind each word that he speaks, it truly makes the listening experience amazing.
He is able to create a new voice for each character and really brings them to life with their own personality. He truly brought Emigh's amazing world to life. I can't wait to hear him do the next book!

This was interesting..

Honestly, I'm pretty picky when it comes to audio reads. why? Because I normally take issue with the person reading it. Specially if it's just one person doing multiple voices. It just doesn't go. I have rarely liked an audio book for that reason. At first I thought this was going to fit in that box of the 'Horrible audiobook Reads I've Read in My Life", but something amazing happened... it didn't! This was a really good audiobook. When there were characters that for certain, the Reader could not do on his own, they added an extra voice and I greatly appreciate that! Although I wasn't a fan of all the voices he was in charge of, I quickly got use to it and enjoyed it the more I listened. This book is amazing and I will most certainly dive into the other instllments of the series. This is definitely a great audio to pick up and listen to on the go or just anytime you feel like it. I'm happy that the author gave me an opportunity to listen to this for free for my unbiased and honest opinnion.

A fanciful tale

This book was a fun listen. It is a complex story that feels both engaging and fun. The main character is put in an unbelievable spot and keeps her wit and sense of adventure about her. As she learns more about her new reality she also learns more than she expects about herself. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is into adventurous fantasy stories with strong women and magical situations. I received the audio version of this book for a voluntary honest review.
