We were prepared for an earthquake. We had a flood plan in place. We could even have dealt with zombies. Probably. But no one expected the end to be quite so…sticky…or strawberry scented. Yahtzee Croshaw (Mogworld, Zero Punctuation Reviews) returns to audiobooks with a follow-up to his smash-hit debut: Jam, a dark comedy about the one apocalypse no one predicted.
Hilarious and fun
I loved this book, Yahtzee has such a unique voice and style that is extremely compelling. The story is fun and an unusual twist on the apocalypse genre. The story meanders a bit and your never entirely sure where it is going but it stays compelling thanks to the omnipresent threat posed by the jam!
The book itself was very well written, having such a serious situation be taken in a rather silly, almost relaxed tone makes it stand out from other survival topic novels; however with Yahtzee's voice the characters get some more personality... and to be honest, he's just got a really nice speaking voice!
Good book, good book.
