"Joyland is a breathtaking, beautiful, heartbreaking book.... Even the most hardboiled readers will find themselves moved." Charles Ardai, Edgar- and Shamus Award-winning editor of Hard Case Crime. Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a carny and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will change his life forever. Joyland is a brand-new novel and has never previously been published.
Classic Stephen King
A good old fashioned Stephen King thriller- darkly written intrigue, twists and turns. This is the 70's and 80's style King that we fell in love with, and left me wanting to dig out my old copies of Carrie and The Regulators. No one writes horror like King and once he proves why we love his tales. The narrator has a great voice for the story an I am very picky and hard on narrators. I will listen to this one again and again.
Great story didn't want it to end excellent reader
A Great Tale
I loved it! Uncle Stevie does it again. He's at his best here with just enough supernatural to keep you on your toes. It's almost perfectly written; warm, funny, eerie, and as always, wise. I hated to see it end.
