From USA Today best-selling author Katie Reus, a sexy romantic suspense novella....

Journalist Eve Newman stumbles across the murder of a prominent member of her west Texas town and finds herself the target of a shadowy killer. When the body goes missing and the police don’t believe she saw it happen, she turns to the only man in town she can trust: her deceased brother’s best friend.

Former Marine Macklin Quinn has been half in love with Eve since they were kids, but he’s always considered her off-limits. When she turns to him for help he can’t send her away. Within 24 hours it’s clear she’s in trouble and someone wants her dead. Mac will do everything in his power to keep the feisty journalist alive and help her bring down the killer. And if they can stay alive long enough, he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her they’re meant to be together.

Action Packed!!!

Hot cover and a great choice for the story!

I listened to the audiobook and narrator Jeffrey Kafer has one of those deep voices that I enjoy listening too too. You would think it would be hard to listen to him narrate the female lead voice but it really isn't. I don't know how to even describe how such a deep voice can read a female part successfully, but he does it. I am able to completely immerse into the story as he reads and I know exactly what character is talking.

The story itself was just as enjoyable. This is a romantic suspense that involves a heroine as a reporter who uncovers a murder and puts her life in danger. The first person she thinks to go to is Mac. Mac is a former Marine and the perfect person to run to for protection.

Killer Secrets is a pretty short read/listen, but full of impact. The pace was spot on. Despite the shorter story, I felt like I got a full picture of who Eve and Mac are as people. Because of these two knowing each other since they were kids, their relationship didn't feel rushed or forced. I enjoyed this very much. ARC provided by author.
