Recently, The New Yorker published chef Anthony Bourdain's shocking, "Don't Eat Before Reading This." Bourdain spared no one's appetite in this tell-all about what happens behind the kitchen door. Now, the author uses the same "take-no-prisoners" attitude in his deliciously funny and shockingly delectable audiobook, sure to delight gourmands and philistines alike. From his first oyster in the Gironde, to his lowly position as a dishwasher in a honky-tonk fish restaurant in Provincetown, from the kitchen of the Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center, to drug dealers in the East Village, from Tokyo to Paris and back to New York again, Bourdain's tales of the kitchen are as passionate as they are unpredictable. Kitchen Confidential will make your mouth water while your belly aches with laughter. You'll beg the chef for more, please. Anthony Bourdain is the author of the novels Bone in the Throat and Gone Bamboo. This is his first work of nonfiction. He is the executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles in New York City.
What lies ahead
I have been admitted to a culinary school back east and to my surprise, everyone whom I have told about my new adventures has told me to read this book, not i should, but I HAVE to read this if going into the field. And they are right! In a carefully crafted way, Bourdain tells a great story about the world of a chef and a great one at that. One must have a sense of humor to get along inthis job and his is great!

BUY THE TICKET, TAKE THE RIDE
Tony Bourdain is one of my all time heroes. He simply rocks! With Tony reading his own words this audio book is a must have for any fan of the culinary arts. Besides being a very good chef he is also an intelligent and talented writer who tells is like it is while taking his readers on wild ride through the hard knocks world of restaurant kitchens. His writing and thirst for adventure as well as excess reminds me of the late great Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. I don’t think I could give anyone else a greater compliment. Anthony Bourdain simply "gets it" and lives life like it should be lived. To the fullest...
