Good Principles But Too Religious-Based For Me
I've heard some good things about this book in the past. I remember my father having it on his book shelf. I wish that the description would have included just how many times the references to having faith in God, reading the Bible, etc. are mentioned. This is a good book for someone whom is Christian...but for those of us who are not...you can choose what is useful and leave the rest.
A Must-Read / Must Listen for EVERYONE
For those not in the know, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale WAS a preacher for 52 years at a church in Manhattan. He founded "Guideposts" and his books are religion (Christianity) based. That said, he is one of the most profound speakers / writers of the modern day, and this is a must read self help classic for everyone. It is a phenomenal book. As another reader said "it calms them," it does me as well. Calms me and gives me a sense of overall wellbeing and happiness. I have not yet listened to the audio, which I am sure is abridged, but the book is awesome. I will definitely be picking up more of Dr. Peale's works. I see now why he is touted as a master among today's self help set.
Encouragement on the Go
Calms me down and sets me in the right direction. One warning. Audible does not track the chapters. The CD breaks it into 4. So I wish I had just bought the CD version instead of this one.
