When three of the world's most prominent horror writers are viciously blackmailed, they are left with no choice but to abandon their comfortable lifestyles and take up seclusion in a tiny cabin in the mountains of Colorado, just on the outskirts of a mysteriously deserted mining town. As the three trapped writers work together, struggling to understand and meet the demands of their blackmailers, they soon realize that they aren't alone. There's something else out there in the woods with them - something that doesn't like visitors - and soon these masters of the macabre are caught right in the middle of their own very real horror story.
3 1/2 stars
I admit, I'm a tough reviewer. This story concept was really cool. It was well written. Overall, I enjoyed it. I might have even given it 4 stars if I had read it instead of listening. My issues were these: the narrator or performer or whatever was good but had a few issues. It seemed as if he had never read the second half of the book (to practice). He would end sentences in odd places and then realize it went on and just keep going. And he couldn't pronounce some words like "enveloped". As for the story- the ending was really lack luster. A great story that built up and then just fizzled out. But, it's worth a try if don't have something on your "up next" list.
