Newly appointed CIA director Dr. Irene Kennedy is the target of an inside plot to destroy her and prematurely end the American President's term. To make matters worse, Saddam Hussein is close to entering the nuclear arms race - something Israel has vowed to stop. With the haunting specter of World War III looming, the president calls on his secret weapon: top counter-terrorism operative Mitch Rapp. But with only two weeks to take out the nukes, Rapp is up against a ticking clock - and impossible odds.
I don't get the outrage
I'm late to the Vince Flynn game. I started in the cronilogical order so I was read to by George for the first one, which was written later. Yes he is very good at his craft. I then came to books that were written early on and read by different authors. I really don't get the over-the-top critizism of the others and this one in particular. When you go the audible route you have made a choice to be read to for what ever reason. This narrator does a fine job, and I get immersed in the story not every inflection made or not made by the narrator. To think they would go back and re-do these with a different reader is crazy talk. Either way it's a great book.
How in the world can you muster the pathological lie and weave it into the most dishonest audiobook review. Maybe the sound quality could have been better at recoding time but this wasn't recorded recently.
My friend if you are trying to decide if you want to try out a Vince Flynn book you are about to discover a world that will bring you some of your happiest reading/listening days ever.
Mitch Rapp, his world and how Vince approaches (approached) crafting each story is not only phenomenal writing, but the story, real life classified info and love you'll have for these characters is a rare gem to discover.
I'm haste to even pigeon hole these works as spy thrillers, political based or tom clancy-ish....it's really a fresh approach to engaging a reader and I know plenty of females that would never read this genre but love Vince Flynn.
No, I don't work for he publisher or remotely know Vince or his family. I'm simply a touched fan that has been blessed to have many works to discover and even reread multiple times when needing something in life to spark some enjoyment when the grind of life spikes.
There's a reason all his works are so well received and bestsellers. Stop your search and pick any Flynn novel you can't go wrong. I would suggest however to either start with Term Limits or American Assassin if you want chronological, but not necessary at all.
Enjoy my friend.
I finished it but it was tough
The reader had absolutely no sense of what was going on in the book.
