“An unbearably tense debut with a knockout premise, Something in the Water had me hooked from the very first sentence. Thrilling and thought-provoking, it’s the perfect beach read. I devoured it!”—Riley Sager, bestselling author of Final Girls
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Who better to read Catherine Steadman's unsettling thriller than Steadman herself? If you don’t know her by name, she played independent-minded Mabel Lane Fox on Downton Abbey. The actress’ precise delivery highlights the dark deeds and moral compromises of her story, about newlyweds who make a very bad decision on their tropical honeymoon and spiral into a web of deceit. From the anxious heroine, Erin, to a scurrilous London gangster, Steadman gives each character a distinct voice, drawing us into the twists and turns of this murder story. She’s a double threat—a gifted reader and author. P.S.: Reese Witherspoon picked Something in the Water for her book club.

Something in the water
Story is secondary to waffling about “fancy” things
Really difficult to get into the genre here because the author seems focused on demonstrating her knowledge of the finer things in life and reminding us that her protagonists are affluent and attractive. Boring.
Waste of time
The story moved so slow. And really?...these people changed that dramatically...after the first several chapters i skipped to the end...and was still disappointed!
