New York Times best-selling author Susan Mallery is world renowned for her "insightful, funny, and poignant" stories (Booklist). With her brand-new Mischief Bay series, Susan brings to vivid color the story of three friends on the brink of a new life. Nicole Lord wants to be a good wife, but there's a difference between being supportive and supporting her husband, who quit his job to write a screenplay she's never seen. He won't even help take care of their son, leaving Nicole to run the house and work full-time at her Mischief Bay Pilates studio. Can she say enough is enough without losing the man she loves? Sacrificing a personal life for her career is how Shannon Rigg rose to become vice president in her firm, but she wonders now whether she made the right choice. An exciting new relationship with a great guy convinces her that it might not be too late--until he drops a bombshell that has her questioning whether she can have it all. And if she can, does she want it? Although Pam Eiland has a beautiful house and a husband she adores, she feels...restless. She wonders who a stay-at-home mom becomes after the kids are grown. Finding sexy new ways to surprise her husband brings the heat and the humor back to their marriage, but when unexpected change turns her life upside down, she'll have to redefine herself. Again. Through romance and heartbreak, laughter and tears, three very different women will discover that friends can become family, and that life is richer with sisters at your side.
Most boring story
I couldn't get done fast enough. Don't wast your time. Dry from start to finish.
Awesome New Series by Susan Mallery
***I was given a copy of this book for a true and honest review***
What can I say about this book except WOW!!! I loved it from beginning to end although my pretty new book has several pages with water marks on them. The book is a powerful testament to the strength and resilience women have within themselves. When you sit down to read this book make sure you have plenty to drink, snacks, and a big box of tissues close at hand. It's a slightly longer book at about 400 pages and your going to find yourself wanting desperately to read it all in one sitting but I had to cave in to sleep and spread my reading out. With some serious dedication you could easily read it in a weekend. I have always sworn my to the Fool's Gold series of books I've loved every single one of them but this book is equal to or perhaps even greater than them. I want to recommend this book to anyone as the book has no real language issues, violence, or steamy sex scenes in it because it simply doesn't need them. I urge anyone looking for an awesome read to pick up this book up and read it as you won't be disappointed.
In Mischief Bay there can be found three very different women. Each is in a different stage in their lives but they still have created a strong bond with one another. They love and support each other completely as they each face very difficult and trying times in their lives. They will take you through the spectrum of emotions as they laugh, love, worry, cry, and as they each face a type of devastating loss. Through it all they are there for each other with a shoulder to cry on or to lean on, ice cream and pizza, hugs, and advice along with a never ending supply of understanding and unquestionable friendship. The women find a strength within themselves they didn't realize they had that helps them to weather the storms ahead of them. They come out at the end battle scarred and weary but confident in each other and the choices they have had to make for their lives.
By the end of the book each women has faced so much and you'll find yourself experiencing a small part of what each woman is going through. I would greatly love to revisit this small town and read the many stories that are still waiting to be told. My thanks to Ms. Susan Mallery for another great and fascinating book. Enjoy it as much as I did!
