An enriching story of family ties, broken hearts, and second chances from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst. When Ethan Bishop returns to the Hudson Valley, his body and spirit are a little worse for wear. As a former Special Forces paratrooper, he saw his fair share of conflict, and he came home with wounds, inside and out. At his sisters’ B & B and farm, he can keep all his pain at a safe distance. But quiet time isn’t easy when a fiery woman explodes into his life... It’s business - not pleasure - that brings Manhattan PR agent Mia Thrush reluctantly to the farm. Tightly wound and quick tempered, Mia clashes immediately with the brooding Ethan. Everything about him is irritating - from his lean muscles and piercing blue eyes to his scent of sweat and musk. But as the summer unfolds and temperatures rise, Ethan and Mia discover how much they have in common: their guarded histories, an uncontrollable desire, and a passion for the future that could heal two broken hearts. But will their pasts threaten their fragile chance at a brand-new future?
Mia, a PR consultant, prides herself in being the best and fighting for the underdog. In order to avenge a wrong perpetrated against her family, she has devoted her life to giving deserving people a second chance. Jonathan, a candidate and client who could make or break her career, comes to her with a favor.....watch over his daughter for the summer while she performs community service at a ranch. Ever the city girl, Mia refuses until Jonathan threatens to take his business elsewhere.
Ethan, a former Special Forces man, returns home following a near fatal accident. Ethan isn't sure what he wants to do--other than being left alone. Ethan still has nightmares and is rehabbing his knee. While helping his sisters at the rach-B&B, he encounters Mia. Judging her by her appearance and mannerisms, he KNOWS she's trouble. Is he wrong?
Woohoo🎉. Two thumbs up!!! I absolutely LOVED Ethan and Mia's story. There were soooo many life lessons, swoon-worthy moments, elderly match making antics, crazy animals, magnificent horses, a troubled college girl, and Disney!!! One can NEVER go wrong with Disney. Their family movie nights reminded me of my family's Disney movie nights as a child, every Sunday. So many life lessons are truly learned from watching Disney movies! I loved Hei Hei's crazy antics, Wheezy's ranch dog appeal, and Pheonix with a name so fitting. Jennifer Probst delivered on ALL levels. Such a loveable, funny, touching, relatable story. I can't wait to read Ophelia and Harper's stories! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
