Publisher Description

Inspired by The Hobbit, and begun in 1937, The Lord of the Rings is the saga of the great War of the Rings. As he crafted the alphabets, languages, and landscapes of Middle-earth, Tolkien created one of the most popular and imaginative works in English literature.

The Two Towers is the second volume of The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape.

In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe— hobbits, elves, and wizards—step colorfully forth from the pages. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Thick & Veiny Bananna ,

Best Version

This unabridged version is in my opinion much better than the dramatized. The dramatized is good, but it's done and over way too quickly and skips whole chapters. Rob does a good job differentiating the voices and giving them life in this piece, so it's much like a dramatized version, but without skipping a word from the book. To me this is more entertaining than either the movie or book. One thing that is entirely different about this version to me was the songs and poems. Roberto sings them himself and does an excellent job. I usually skip them in the books because it makes me read in a singing voice when I continue with the regular parts, but in this version they complement the story nicely.

Awesomesauce!

The Two Towers is one of my favorite books and Rob Inglis does an excelllent job bringing the story to life. I have listened to the unabridge LOTR for over a decade now (since tapes) and I have yet to grow tired of it. It is defiently worth its wieght in gold.

Audio Cuts Out UPDATE

The Itunes help department quickly refunded me for the corrupt recording. As I had previously mentioned the audio for the second half of this book cut off and didn't return.
This book and the voice actor are both wonderful and I highly recommend purchasing this quality product.
