On a busy Washington morning, the stately calm of the White House is shattered in a deadly terrorist attack on the executive mansion. The president is evacuated to an underground bunker, but not before nearly 100 hostages are taken. Mitch Rapp, the CIA’s top counterterrorism operative, is sent in to take control of the crisis and determines that the president is not as safe as Washington’s power elite had thought. Indeed, Rapp has made a chilling discovery that could rock Washington to its core: someone within his own government wants his rescue attempt to fail.
Couldnt finish this one
I have purchased and listened to 5 other Vince Flynn books prior to this one. Enjoyed each and every one from start to finish. However, every book was narrated by George Guidall. He is fantastic and gave each character a unique and believable voice and personality. After listening to the previous books expertly narrated by Guidall, I couldn't bear to listen to this one - didn't even make it past the first chapter. Narrator is dry, monotone, uninteresting. Please, please, please have Guidall do all of your future books!! I'll pay extra...
While the book itself might be a great read, the narrator couldn't keep my attention. I don't know if this represents the narrator's normal speech pattern, but it comes across so unnatural, that it sounds mechanical. It literally sounded like the narrator was trying to read every syllable. Try as I might, I couldn’t establish any flow in listening to the book, because the delivery was so choppy.
The book is phenomenal! However the narrator is way too dry
Once again Vince Flynn does not disappoint! This book is so captivating, I have read it as well as now listened to it. I loved every minute, except for the narrator. I am sure that in his own right, Mr. Sullivan is a fine narrator. Unfortunately he is having to follow Mr. George Guidall. Mr. Guidall has narrated all of Vince Flynn's other books in the Mitch Rapp series and his narration is so gripping you cant turn it off.
PLEASE stick with Mr. Guidall, he is the only narrator to truly do Vince Flynn's books justice.
